Great summer holidays at Club Med Grand Massif Samoens

5/55/5 • 31/7/2025

We spent a week at Club Med Grand Massif Samoëns Morillon in July and were very satisfied with our stay.

The spacious bar and theatre area, along with the terrace offering a beautiful mountain view, were definite highlights. The terrace is partly covered, making it a pleasant spot to enjoy even in rainy weather.

As we were travelling with a two-month-old baby, we especially appreciated how stroller-friendly the resort is. The paved path around the property was ideal for walks in good weather, and the covered part of the terrace was very useful on rainy days.

Special thanks to the Kids Club team, especially Simone and Tom, for their kindness and care towards our daughters (7 and 9 years old). Despite the language barrier (the girls speak little French) they felt included and well looked after.

We also very much appreciated the attention from Bruno, the manager responsible for Gold and Platinum guests. He was very helpful.

Thank you to the whole team for a lovely holiday!

Fantastic family ski trip

5/55/5 • 6/4/2025

We are a family with 3 children aged 8 and under. I was slightly worried ahead of the trip due to some of the reviews here but we had an incredible stay. The food, skiing, kids club, hotel rooms and facilities were all amazing and everything was so well organised. Shout out to Pascal, Jason and team for always being so helpful and friendly and our ski instructor Nicolas for great lessons and local info! We will definitely be back next year.

Top Club Med in the Alps!

5/55/5 • 6/4/2025

We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at the Club Med Grand Massif Sameons.
This was our third club med winter trip and it was our best experience yet!
The hotel can be a little confusing at first due to the floors and lift system but once you learn to navigate it you really get to enjoy it. The property is new and well maintained.
As we had completed the pre-checkin email, upon arrival the actual check in process was very straight forwards.
We had interconnected rooms which were airy, bright and spacious enough.

The kids club is conveniently located next to the lockers and access to the piste.
Speaking of kids club, both our children (7 & 9) had an absolute blast! And they even joined the evening activities. There were kids from lots of backgrounds and English was widely spoken by all the kids and the GO team. The GO team were truly fantastic; attentive and extremely helpful, they really knew what they were doing. The kids particularly enjoyed Bobby’s company and his trike!

The food was varied and there were plenty of choices for the whole family. The house wine was very drinkable and readily available.

The pool area is good however the main pool’s temperature was a little too cold.
The sauna and steam room were available and regularly used.

A couple of suggestions for Club Med -

  • It would be great if parents bracelets could also open kids rooms/ lockers
  • Have a sales rep available to discuss potential future bookings with guests
  • Heat up the indoor pool - it is too cold

Lovely spring ski trip

5/55/5 • 30/3/2025

This week long trip with our student son was out of school hols. 1500,800 people approx were the numbers the 2 weeks before. 300?? In our week. This will make a huge difference to whether you feel well looked after or not. I assume similar numbers of staff??

23-30 march pros:
Local flights jet2 from stansted to Gva
Transfer was fine after walking to T1 from T2 but with a friendly club med rep
Excellent checkin and explanation of how this club med ran
Ski hire staff very helpful setting bindings for old dad and young son both with knee issues. Boot change and locker not opening were dealt with rapidly and helpfully
ESF was great - guiding with some technical points for 4-7 adults was ideal
Food was exceptional. We’ve done quite a few summer club meds and a winter one and samoens was far better. Interactions with the chefs serving/finishing plates was really good so it was easy to get just what you liked.
The house white was excellent (gaillac) and the skyline bar area with pool table and big tables for cards/games was quiet and friendly with fun bar staff and zero queue for food or drink. Confit duck/foie gras/veal/venison/seafood plus the bonus of some enhanced Chinese options (Chinese group im residence, club med aiming to cater well for them) were super.
Pool was perfect temp for swimming. If you’re cold, swim?! Or go to the sauna/steam room / hot tub for a warm lounge about.
Guests all seemed to be friendly and got along esp the ski lesson groups

Cons (picky):
TV language selection was difficult, needed multiple resets, maybe due to poor Wi-Fi - we should have tried buying the 30€/ week upgrade really
Ski area starts a bit low for spring skiing but above 2000m was fine
Drunk guy really very abusive in the sauna (French language but didn’t think I spoke French) and was I think part of a day trip as I never saw him again - ugly bald man
