Truly a home away from home
5/5 • 01/06/2025Club Med Guilin was such a gem for us. Came during the low season, so there were not too many people. We had all the facilities and activities available for us almost at whim. Although it was raining throughout our stay there, the activities were aplenty and we did not run out of things to do. Nonetheless, because of the rainy weather, we could not go on excursions due to the high tide at the river (we have been wanting to ride the bamboo raft at the Li River).
Housekeeping was provided twice a day, which makes up for the slightly aged living quarters. However, the rooms were decent and well kept.
Language can be tricky, but the staff did their best to accommodate. For Muslims, do note that halal option is not available. However we opted for non-meat/seafood options which were in abundance. GOs were extremely helpful - warm, friendly and more than happy to help with anything we needed from food requirements to daily activities. The staff even assisted to plan a birthday surprise for my wife - complimentary cake and room decorations - on her birthday. So shoutout to Lai, Appy, Peggy, Loic, Vance, Rachel and the rest of the GOs. You truly made us feel at home!
Bonus: On our last day, the manager Lim offered to pack food for our journey back home, which we felt was an extremely thoughtful gesture.

Great experience at Guilin

The most beautiful Club Med
5/5 • 22/05/2025I visited Club Med Guilin in May 2025 with 2 other friends. The view of the karst mountains and being surrounded by the many sculptures was really quite stunning. The rooms although a little on the older side, were well maintained and functioned well. It is a very big compound but there is a buggy that comes around every 5-7 minutes. Otherwise, it's actually quite lovely to just walk from one compound to another. There are some interesting activities here like Paddleboard Yoga and activities that are targeted for older folks like Ba Duan Jin, tea appreciation etc. Great for families who have their grandpas and grandmas. Great selection of food and mostly taste delicious. Service from the general staff is polite, respectful and attentive. But what makes the stay truly memorable was the dedication and customer focused G.Os.Special shout out to Dylan who went beyond his call of duty to take care of my sick friend. Sammi, for hosting us at the wine cellar with a masterclass in wine appreciation. Debra - my very first GO in Club Med Bali - so happy to see you here in Guilin and congrats to your promotion. Appy - for your wonderful stage presence and vivaciousness. And lastly a big shout out to the chef de village - Lim - for his leadership and commitment towards service excellence. I had a very memorable experience. Thank you so much!

Amazing china trip
5/5 • 16/05/2025I was so impressed with the spacious and spotless room, as well as the excellent food. What truly stood out was the incredible staff. Their constant smiles and warm greetings made me feel so welcome, and their performances were fantastic. A big thank you to the MALAYSIA Chef de Village Lim (the best CDV I met in clubmed ) and the amazing team: Go Appy, Mia, Lai, Bekki, Sanmi, Raymond, Malilu, Victor and one choreographer from France(I forget the name ,sry).

Good chill place for family
4/5 • 13/05/2025Many online reviews about the room not being good, but really not that bad! Standard room that’s clean and nice. All the GO are amazing. They do have more paying options than other club meds I’ve been to. Very family friendly. Pool is beautiful.

Sanitary conditions are generally good in China, but don't forget to check all the necessary formalities before departure.

Typhoid
Yellow fever (this vaccination is mandatory if you arrive in China from an area where yellow fever is endemic).
Meningitis A & C is recommended for regions closed to Mongolia.
Rabies and japanese encephalitus.
Mosquitos can transmit certain viruses and parasitic diseases, so you are strongly advised to use tropical mosquito repellents for skin and clothing.
Risk of the most dangerous form of malaria (falciparum) means that serious prevention is necessary (chemoprophylaxis and mosquito repellents).
As a preventive measure against bird flu, you are advised not to visit bird markets and zoos. Also, tap water in China is not drinking water, we recommend you drink mineral water.
Yanshan Hospital (for minor problems) is 15 min away.
Guilin has two other hospitals: Nan Xi Schan Hospital and 181 Hospital, around one hour's drive from the Resort.
