Last year we went to CM Phuket in March and loved it so much we went back in June. The Chef de Village was a super amazing guy even coming personally when I had trouble with my aircon. He was everywhere and very present in his engagement with the guests. This year we took our family with us. The rooms are lovely, new and clean but there is a marked absence of the CDV as I only saw him once at the show. Also a lot of the staff and not friendly and seem to avoid engagement with guests unless necessary. I even saw many of them slip away after the show when the CDV left - leaving only 3 local staff to enage with guests (2 thai and 1 indonesian). Having said that there are a few who treated us exceptionally well and these are their names, Zom, Noah, Didi and Emre. These GO's are warm, friendly and approachable. The food was not as good as last year though i would say when there are more people in the village the choices are better. The one thing that was very apparent is that the Pastry chef was definitely not at the standard it was last year. Last year the quality was very high but this year I saw one same type of vanilla sheet cake being used to make a variety of flavors at every meal. The cookies were soft, the eclairs and paris brest were filled with some oily cream instead of creme patissiere. Flan was not smooth and overall it was disappointing. Otherwise if you make your own fun you can have a good time. Most of the activities offered to adults were definitely not well attended and all tounaments like picklebball and tennis don't materialize
