Les Boucaniers Martinique - French West Indies

Went went to Club Med Les Buccaneers for the second year in a row because it was so enjoyable the first time. We went with our family, including our twin 8 year old and 4 year old grandkids along with their high energy parents. We were kept endlessly busy and happy. It was as a great experience all around. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the food is excellent with so many choices even for fussy kids. Thanks for a great vacation!

Had a great time at Club Med Martinique recently.

The island of Martinique is very green, lush, and beautiful. The streets were amongst the cleanest I have visited in the Caribbean. And the tap water is drinkable as well so that's a plus.

Club Med Martinique was on a crystal clear bay with lots of sea life right off the shallow beach. No jellyfish but watch your step for sea urchins in the rocky parts.

For activities, we learned to windsurf, waterski, and wakeboard as well as kayak or SUP. Our favourite GO was Sebastien at Ski Nautique who ensured we were successful.

I would certainly come back to visit this Club Med.

The resort is beautiful and beautifully kept. It was our first time at a club med so we didn’t have any comparators but we’ve been to several all inclusive resorts and the food here was excellent. The only drawback is that the beach is relatively small and can get quite crowded. While we did find a quieter spot it’s not like other resorts where you might feel secluded. Lots of free activities and lots of extra pay activities here. We participated in yoga almost every morning and the instructor Magali was amazing and very funny. She also taught the salsa lessons and is a fantastic dancer. She exemplified the GOs at the resort - warm friendly and always willing to assist.

Very enjoyable - some things to work on: Food sometimes cold.
Bats in rafters of theatre area peed/pooped on us. Why gave Average for cleanliness. The rest of resort was very clean and rooms excellent.
Do NOT get the tomahawk steak - very tough. Not worth the money. Why gave average for value: but perhaps not fair as it was just one item, but a very expensive and disappointing one.

We just came back from a wonderful stay of almost two weeks here. Loved the food which was varied every day and restaurant, all the amenities, the evening entertainment, the attentive staff (Kudos to Melissa and Josie) and the spotless cleaning of the whole resort. We did smile at the falling warning coconut signs placed around the resort. And we enjoyed the host kitties that are well taken care of by the staff.
The manager impressed us also. He was always out amongst the guests asking how we were doing etc
Our room looking out onto the ocean was of nice size and so so clean! We were on the first floor and really never heard our neighbors. Glad of the no smoking rooms and the no smoking beach, though we did not see that many people smoking.
Our French was not really great, but we found many of the staff spoke excellent English and were helpful.
One complaint... we had paid ahead of time for our pick up from the airport and drop off at the airport . We had to wait over an hour for our pick up, even though they knew when we came into the island. Leaving the same thing happened. Two days before our departure we checked on our ride back , the day before , and the morning of departure. Three times that morning and we were left waiting again 45 minutes. Thank goodness we believe in leaving early enough for this delay.
