Pragelato Sestriere Italy

We had a very nice vacation overall at Club Med Pragelato Sestriere, with some real highlights but also a few areas that could be improved.
The check-in experience was difficult for us. We were told we would receive a notification on our phone when our room was ready, but we never received one. After flying overnight from Canada, we were exhausted and ultimately didn't get our room until around 8 p.m. I understand there may be reasons for prioritizing families, but after an overnight flight, the wait was particularly tough.

Our basic room was decently clean, but nothing to phone home about. It was fairly simple for the price point, although we weren't expecting anything particularly luxurious given that we booked the basic category.

The dining rooms were another challenge, especially during peak meal times. They can become quite chaotic, with kids running around and cutting lines. At one point, I actually had a glove thrown in my face! 😂 The à la carte restaurants were much more peaceful and were particularly enjoyable for adults traveling without children or solo travelers.

The biggest highlights were the skiing and the ski instructors. The ski classes were extremely well organized, especially considering how often people move between groups and levels. The instructors were top-notch. A special shout-out to Matteo Capello, who was knowledgeable, patient, kind, and genuinely excellent at teaching.

The skiing itself is incredible—the scenery is gorgeous and the terrain is fantastic.

My biggest frustration was actually with some other guests. Some people would join groups that were clearly too advanced for their ability despite the instructor's recommendation to move to a more appropriate level. We also witnessed some amusing moments: adults arriving at the gondola without their poles, or coming up with someone else's skis and only discovering the mistake when their boots didn't fit the bindings. 😂 Funny in isolation, but when these things happen repeatedly, they create unnecessary confusion and delays.

One thing that would make a huge difference for adult guests would be even a tiny adults-only quiet area somewhere on the property. It wouldn't need to be anything elaborate—just a small space to escape the family activity and have some peaceful time would have been amazing.

Overall, we had a good vacation and really enjoyed the skiing and the instructors. Pragelato is a beautiful resort with a lot going for it. For us, the biggest opportunities for improvement would be a smoother arrival experience, better management of peak dining periods, and a small peaceful space for adults.

The place is absolutely beautiful, cozy, and welcoming. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help. We had a wonderful time and would definitely love to come back!
