Beach Resorts in Italy
Italy has many beaches to discover...
Italy is still one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe for your summer holidays. Whether you're travelling as a couple, a family or in a group, you'll find plenty of places to visit and activities you can share. Hiking in the hills, a cruise along the canals of Venice, Italian wine tasting and so much more. It's no wonder that this country is among the most visited in the world.
In addition to all these pleasures, there is an incredible variety of beaches along the coastline. Italy is an essential destination for the dedicated travel lover. Club Med invites you to discover some of the world's most beautiful beaches that are located in Italy.
Rabbit Beach on Lampedusa in Sicily
A pristine place, which some consider to be the loveliest beach in the world. It's reached by a 20-minute walk via a staircase carved into the rock leading down to the sea.
Even glimpsed at a distance, the white sandy beach and crystal clear water reveal the incredible transparency of the sea. The entire bay of Rabbit Island (the Isola dei Conigli in Italian) is a marine protection area that can only be visited during the day.
Tuscany: the bay of Fetovaia on the island of Elba
Fetovaia Bay is famed for its beach of microscopic granite grains and the crystal clarity of its sea.
In addition to this lovely location, two other leading beach resorts in Italy, those pearls of the Tyrrhenian Sea Cavoli and Secchetto, are located on this Tuscan island and deserve to be mentioned.

Cala Spalmatore beach in Sardinia
Sardinia could never be left out of any rating of Italy's most beautiful beaches. La Maddalena will take your breath away when you embark on a journey of discovery of kilometres of its outstanding views. Along the way, admire the granite and porphyry rocks naturally sculpted by the wind. The beaches and wild coves are deserted in low season, making it a perfect time for tourists to visit.
Cala Spalmatore is located on the northeast coast of the main island of the archipelago. This beach is always sheltered from the winds, as it is screened by the maquis, the natural herbage of the Mediterranean, and enfolded by pink rocks.
Camogli beach in Liguria
A narrow tongue of rock extending out to sea from the promontory of Portofino has now become one of the most popular beaches in Italy. Punta Chiappa can be reached by boat from the nearby town of Camogli. Hikers often prefer the scenic walk from San Rocco that leads among holm oaks and ancient olive trees, and passes through San Nicolò di Capodimonte on its way to the furthermost point. It's no coincidence that this coast overlooks the aptly-named Gulf of Paradise. This is a terrestrial Eden on the Riviera di Levante, and forms part of the marine protection area.
Two Sisters Beach in Sirolo
Lovers of simple, even Spartan beaches will fall in love with this small beach that can only be reached by sea on one of the ferries that depart from Numana.
The more athletic visitor can also reach this beach by kayak or surfboard. Sirolo's "Spiaggia delle Due Sorelle" epitomises the whole of the wonderful Riviera del Conero. The beach consists of fine gravel and small, smooth pebbles. It takes its name from the two white rocks rising from the crystal clear sea, which resemble two "sisters at prayer".
Acquafredda di Maratea Beach
Situated close by the hamlet of Maratea, this rugged coastline shares the same blue water and dark grey sand as the Amalfi coast.
There are no jostling crowds of tourists here to disturb your tranquillity. This is a prime location for beach lovers looking for peace in a quiet rustic setting. The rocky coastline with its cliffs rising up on either side of the charming cove retain the wild and remote nature of the Basilicata region.
