Vibrant culture, Tropical adventures & Golden beaches
The Dominican Republic is fantastic for family holidays and Caribbean getaways, thanks to its colourful culture, idyllic beaches and year-round tropical climate. For a real taste of the island, visit the colonial buildings of Santo Domingo, catch a baseball game at Estadio Quisqueya, then dance the Merengue at an authentic Dominican dance hall.
Venture outside the resorts and you’ll discover a picture-perfect tropical paradise, from the hidden forests and caves of the Three Eyes national park to the magical blue waters of Hoyo Azul. Hike up the majestic Mount Pico Duarte, fly through the jungle on a zipline, or explore the caverns of Cueva de las Maravillas or “Cave of Wonders”.
After exploring cities and jungles, there’s nothing like a lazy day on the beach at your all-inclusive resort – though how lazy is up to you. The warm clear waters of the Caribbean Sea are perfect for water sports from surfing to stand-up paddle boards. For something different, enjoy a crayfish cruise, explore a coral reef or go on a family-friendly whale watching!
Embrace this wonderful mixed culture
After recharging your batteries in the heart of nature, take a walk in the footsteps of the first inhabitants and go back in time in the Indigenous Eyes ecological park of Punta Cana. Its dozen clear-water lakes make this site a paradise on earth.
Continue your all-inclusive holiday and set sail for a cruise aboard the Club Med 2 to discover the cultural mix of the Dominican Republic. In Santo Domingo, visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Incarnation, which dates back to the time of the conquistadors.
Conclude your all-inclusive stay in the Dominican Republic as you relax to the beat of bachata or merengue. Born here on the island, you’ll love these dance rhythms with their enchanting cultural mix.
Nature in all its forms
Enjoy nature at its most luxuriant during your all-inclusive holiday in the Dominican Republic. From fine sandy beaches to tropical forests, the country’s landscapes are as different as they are fascinating.
In the South-East, venture amongst the exotic foliage of Cotubanamá National Park and explore the exceptional marine fauna with its manatees and dolphins. Just opposite, on the island of Sanoa, you can play at being a modern-day Robinson Crusoe on the white sandy beaches, lined with coconut trees. The clear waters are all yours along with a tranquillity that will truly make you feel like a castaway.
Finally, to round off your adventure, take a horseback ride through the forest and cool off in the refreshing waters of the El Limon waterfall, 50m high.
Move to the Caribbean beat
An all-inclusive holiday in the Dominican Republic means taking it easy and slowing down the pace.
After a swim in the turquoise waters of the Hoyo Azul cenote, head for Punta Cana beach and enjoy a tasty plantain banana soup called sancocho, or a marinated lobster.
With renewed energy courtesy of your tasty meal, treat yourself to a round of golf at Corales, while enjoying the calming sound of the waves that meet the shore just a few metres from the green.
El Limon waterfall
A horseback excursion to this natural site takes you into the heart of the rainforest, 300km from your Punta Cana Club Med resort.
At the end of your hike, you reach a lush setting where the cascade flows in a truly spectacular curtain of water: a unique place to admire this pair of falls, one 10m, the other 50m high. Dive into this pure, refreshing water and leave the rest of the world behind.
Cathedral Santa María
As you look up at this imposing building, you’re standing in front of the oldest cathedral in the New World, where Christopher Columbus lay until 1992.
Built in the 16th century, the site’s architecture takes you to the heart of the Spanish Renaissance, and is just a 2-hour drive from your Punta Cana Club Med resort, or a place to stop off during a relaxing cruise. Once inside, in the cool of the nave, there are statues, stained glass windows and impressive vaulted arches to marvel at.
Sabana de la Mar
Protected by a few strips of land filled with palm trees, Sabana Bay is a haven of peace.
Its deep and hospitable waters turn out to be a true sanctuary. This bay, one of the most beautiful in the Dominican Republic, is a vacation spot for many whales. From the port of the city, embark to meet them. Jumps, dives and acrobatics, during this crossing, attend a unique aquatic ballet.
Corales Golf Course
The Dominican Republic is one of the most popular destinations for golf enthusiasts.
On site, close to your Punta Cana Club Med resort, put your skills to the test on this technically demanding course. In the kind of setting only the island can offer, take on this challenging 18-hole course while enjoying views of the Caribbean Sea from up on the cliff tops.
Will you make it past the "devil's elbow"?
Chinese Farmer’s Markets
Gourmets and food lovers from the Dominican Republic are familiar with Avenida Duarte of Santo Domingo, just 2 hr 15 from your Punta Cana Club Med resort.
In the heart of Chinatown, you’re transported into the middle of teeming Asian life. It’s an opportunity to get off the beaten track and treat yourself to some steamed ravioli before heading to the Mercado Modelo, the town’s other must-see market.
