The Valmorel Chalet-Apartments France

Our second visit to the Club Med Valmorel Chalets, after an amazing first visit last year. Comparing the two experiences, I would say this stay was good, but not quite as impressive, hence the rating.

Good:

• The 3-bedroom chalet itself is great. Lots of space for our family of 6, big fridge, washer/dryer, and of course great views over the mountain and the resort.
• our primary Chalet Host, Vassilis, was very welcoming and helpful, as were the majority of the Chalet team members
• the pierrade and raclette remained highlight of the in-chalet dining options
• we had added to our family since last year, so got to try the BabyClub, which was wonderful
• the ease of ski logistics, both for the kids via the MiniClub and the adults with the private chalet ski room, is a top selling point
• while not technically part of Club Med, the ESF instructors were once again great with our kids

Not as good:

• one of the main reasons we specifically came back to Valmorel instead of exploring a different Club Med ski resort was the incredible MiniClub team that took care of our kids last year. They were engaged, super friendly, spoke perfect English (important, as ours don’t speak any French) and went so far as to make laminated sheets for each child signed by the entire MiniClub team. All three kids talked incessantly about how great it was, and even stuck those laminated sheets on their bedroom doors. Unfortunately, this year’s experience was not quite as spectacular. Sadly, none of the previous team were there (I think one or two may have been at the resort but had moved to different positions - TeenClub, etc.) and the new team was not as engaging with our kids. One in particular, a gentleman named Fred, was gruff bordering on rude, unapproachable, didn’t (or refused to) speak English, and (according to the kids) gave off a weird vibe. Needless to say, there was no laminated sheet at the end of the week, and the kids haven’t been begging us to take them back next year. Hopefully it was just an anomaly, and I know there is often a lot of turnover at Club Meds from year to year - but the difference was notable enough to mention.

Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and do plan to return - and hopefully renew our kids’ love of the MiniClub.

After two experiences at the CM village of Valmorel we decided this year to try the chalet experience. We are completely satisfied.
The chalet is delightful and very spacious, furnished in mountain style. The services are great, the staff is super nice. Breakfast is prepared and served in the chalet in the morning, and in the afternoon you can enjoy an aperitif in the chalet or in the private lounge. It's equally very nice to be able to organize dinner directly in the chalet. All village services are available; there is a shuttle service that takes you to the village in just a few minutes. This allows you to choose to enjoy convivial moments in the village for lunch, dinners (food is good and service in the resturants are working well), night dance while breathing in the Club Med atmosphere or have moments of greater privacy in your chalet or private lounge. We also enjoyed the village's outdoor pool and the free use of the ski lifts and bike park for mountain biking.
The chalet manager Isabella leads the team that takes care of the exclusive collection space of the chalets very well, all the staff are kind and super helpful. Thanks to Steven who was our chalet referent and to Sylvan who we met again at the chalets after the Club Med 2 experience last winter.
Having tried this new experience, we are convinced to repeat it next year for our summer mountain holidays.
Definitely a beautiful experience

Our week at the Valmorel Club Med Chalets in the Exclusive Collection surpassed every expectation. The chalet was spacious, comfortable, and a wonderful retreat from the main clubhouse, while still being easy to access and perfectly integrated into the resort experience.

Yona and Ryan were fantastic with my kids, Vassilis was a wonderful host, and the Chef de Village was extraordinarily talented. What truly set the experience apart, however, was the warmth and care of the entire team. From the chalet staff to the locker room team, everyone made us feel genuinely special.

It was a week our family will not forget, and one we will remember with enormous gratitude.

This was my first trip to Europe with my Hanai (adopted family) and everyone of the staff were absolutely amazing❣️
the food, the skiing, the pool, the ambience and the service was fantastic!
I tried to remember every one of the staffs names…
they were all wonderful and I’m sorry if I miss a name 🤔

Club med Valmorel was beyond our expectations. We lucked out with perfect weather, perfect snow conditions. The chalet team was incredible (Vassilis, our host, was exceptional, as were all the other chalet members, from those in the ski room, to the cleaning team, to the drivers). The setting was magnificent and the resort was clean, GOs friendly, and the mini club was so great for our kids. We loved every minute of it.
