A northern country of snow-capped peaks, frozen lakes and northern lights, Canada is a paradise for lovers of winter sensations.

In the forest of the Sentier des Caps de Charlevoix, strap on your cross-country skis and glide through the birch and pine trees of Eastern Canada.

To get up close to some of North America's most emblematic animals, head for Réserve des Laurentides.
Here, in the heart of the coniferous forests, unique wildlife proliferates. In winter by snowmobile or in summer on the trails, accompanied by a guide, explore the park and meet moose, beavers, black bears and other animals. This protected area, between mountain ranges, lakes and woods, is a must-see during your stay in Canada.

Meet the belugas at the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park
As the gateway to Eastern Canada, the Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park is home to many inhabitants. Embark at the mouth of the Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay and the river and set out to meet the cetaceans.
After a long expedition, you'll be able to spot belugas and whales. In a kayak, a pleasure boat or on a cruise, sail alongside these queens of the sea. Watch them leap and bounce through the waters of the St. Lawrence and Saguenay rivers, and discover a fascinating spectacle.

Taste the authenticity of Québec City

On the shores of the St. Lawrence, Quebec City is like a mirage of the old continent.
It was here in the regional capital that the first French settlers set foot on Canadian soil. Centuries later, the architecture, monuments and ramparts still bear witness to this history.
Stroll through the narrow streets and typical houses of the Petit-Champlain district. Take a tour of Château Frontenac and push open the doors of Notre-Dame-de-Québec Cathedral. The atmosphere of "la vieille capitale" promises a journey through time.

Skiing in the Massif de Charlevoix

In winter, above the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the slopes of Charlevoix don their white mantle. It's the perfect time for winter sports enthusiasts to take to the slopes at Le Massif.
Put on your skis, polish your snowboard or strap on your toboggan. From your resort, a cable car takes you up to the peaks of Eastern Canada. Once you're up there, let yourself be carried away by the vertical drops and enjoy a breathtaking view of the frozen river.

Isle-aux-Coudres

Between the Laurentians and the Appalachians, protected by the waves of the St. Lawrence, a small piece of land has retained its charm of yesteryear.
With its wildflower plains, old Canadian stone houses and windmills, Isle-aux-Coudres is one of the most beautiful islands in Eastern Canada.
Kayak from Baie-Saint-Paul or Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive to these indented beaches. After paddling, hop on a bike for a complete tour of the island's 23 km of trails. And if you get the munchies in between pedaling, the island is bursting with sweet treats to sample in one of its bakeries.

Snowmobiling through Onatchiway

All winter long around Onatchiway, the snow piles up and the lakes and rivers freeze over.
In this immaculate white world, only the green tops of the fir trees can be seen. Admire this polar-like spectacle from the seat of a snowmobile.
Cut through layers of powder, pick up speed and skate over frozen streams. When you're in Canada, winter is the season for thrilling activities.
