The Finolhu Villas

You can start with the obvious, that Club Med Finolhu is situated in paradise. The scenery is stunning.

I was booked to stay in an over the water sunset villa from June 23 through July 1.
I extended my trip until July 4. This review explains why.

I can go on forever about the beauty of Finolhu and nearby Kani (the other club med property you have access to on multiple shuttles per day—about a 6 minute journey). But I’d rather talk about the other high points of the resort.

The property is in spectacular shape and its gardens beautiful. The island pool and bar area is large and well appointed. The beach nearby is visible from the pool, deck, and bar. The rooms are spacious with modern conveniences and in top shape. The staff keep the island public areas and the rooms spotless.

The staff is perhaps the high point of the resort. Every staff member of every vocation is friendly and greets you when they see you. They are eager to make sure your stay is everything you dream it would be. The bar staff mix good cocktails and are happy to satisfy off menu requests. The restaurant staff is very attentive, learn your preferences, and are always happy to ensure you enjoy your meal. The food, from breakfast to dinner and all of the food services offered at the bar and special places on the island as treats, is top notch. There is great variety in the food served and it is very good. Indeed, the chef, cooks, and restaurant staff are happy to accommodate you and even surprise you at times. As an American on the island on July 4, I was surprised with an Independence Day greeting in my villa and the chef prepared me hamburger and fries for July 4, and themed desserts too! It was a special touch.

The staff also put on fun special events throughout your stay. They keep the island guests busy (if you want) with fun social events. The staff has an energy and enthusiasm that elevates your stay here.

The butler services take some getting used to—but it’s a nice touch and very useful in helping you get the most out of your experience.

The excursions available to you are absolutely worth it. I did jet skiing twice, because it was a blast, and also did the snorkeling with nurse sharks, and deep ocean fishing. It was all so much fun and worth it. The excursions staff, called Discovery, is a third party that works with Club Med. They are friendly and very easy to work with. And like the club med staff they have an enthusiasm that heightens every experience.

I did do one massage at the Spa and it was very good. The spa overlooks the clear and blue waters. The best massage location I’ve experienced.

Finally, I would point out that all of the G.Os were so gracious and kind. And the GM/village chief, Marguerite was a pleasure to chat with and to learn from, and it’s obvious she and the staff work very hard to deliver the incredible experience that I enthusiastically recommend.

Such an amazing experience, not only are the views breathtaking, the facilities are well maintained, the food was amazing and top it all off, the staff really make your experience. Thanks especially to our butler Tatiana, Sola from the restaurant, Iru & Adam from the activity team. Every staff member truly added to our amazing holiday!

Beautiful views, ideal for a very relaxing holiday. You can bask in the sun and lie at the deck all day! Perfect for our honeymoon.

From the moment we arrived, our experience at Club Med Finolhu was nothing short of exceptional. We were incredibly lucky to have Zameer as our butler—his service was flawless. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he struck the perfect balance of being always present yet never intrusive. Zameer, thank you sincerely for all your efforts; you made us feel completely comfortable and at home throughout our stay.

Every staff member we encountered was kind, polite, and attentive, contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere that made Finolhu feel so special. A special mention goes to our favorite waiter, Leo, whose lovely smile and consistently excellent service made every meal even more enjoyable.

The excursions—including a visit to the breathtaking Blue Lagoon and an unforgettable swim with nurse sharks—were beautifully organized and perfectly timed. The staff leading them were experienced, attentive, and genuinely passionate, which made the magical experiences even more memorable.

Finolhu is the most precious place we’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting, and the Maldives took our breath away. Club Med delivered an experience beyond compare, and we leave feeling truly blessed and grateful for it all.
