Explore the area on skis or snowshoes
Your stay at Club Med Pragelato Sestriere is a chance to explore Italy's biggest ski area. Via Lattea offers a varied experience with pistes at all levels, but is mainly known for its incredible snow cover and sunshine.
The 243 pistes even hosted the 2006 Winter Olympics. The wide choice of levels makes the ski area perfect for families. Kids can have fun on the 9 green runs and 82 blue runs, while teenagers and adults can get stuck into the 112 red runs and the 40 black runs.
Skiing
The Resort itself has 30 miles of slopes in Pragelato accessible to everyone aged at least 4 years. All ages can take group lessons taught by ESI instructors.
Skiing: from age 4 at Mini Club Med+©, ages 11 to 17 at Junior Club Med, and in group or individual lessons for adults.
Snowboarding: group lessons for teenagers and adults help you make quick progress with your boarding.
Snowshoeing: from age 12, families can explore the mountains and the natural environment. Discovery sessions and Nordic Walking are available, so head out and leave your footprints in the powder.

Things you need to see and do in the Via Lattea area
Skiing holidays with exercise and culture
Between trips down the slopes, take advantage of the culture and tourist activities on offer in the Via Lattea area. In summer and winter, the region has plenty of places to visit and experiences to try. Why not find out what lies beyond the pistes?
- Fenestrelle Fortress: on the Italian side of the border, 20 minutes from Club Med Pragelato Sestriere, lies an 18th-century fortress. Wending its way along the mountain ridge, the fortress is worth exploring with a guide so you can learn all about its story.
- Forte Bramafam museum: on the Italian side of the border, 40 minutes from the Resort. A war museum in a fort with interesting history and incredible views.
- Church of San Giovanni Battista: on the Italian side of the border, 33 minutes from the Resort. A charming little church in typical Italian style dating from the 14th century. The decor immerses you in the devout ambiance of the Turin region.
Did you know?
The village of Pragelato is one of just a few in Italy to have French as a minority language, as well as Occitan. The name "Pragelato" comes from Piedmontese, an Alpine dialect, and means "icy meadow". You don't pronounce the "e" in Italian. "Via Lattea" means "Milky Way", probably thanks to the incredible night sky in this ski area!
